Senate on Wednesday reduced budget allocated to government agencies and parastatals in order to finance 2019 general elections.
National Assembly however failed to slash anything from its own budget to finance 2019 general elections.
The Senate approved N242 billion for Independent National Electoral Commission and Security agencies to the purpose of the elections
The National Assembly had vired N242 billion from Service Wide Votes from the Elections.
But, the lawmakers rescinded their decision by slashing budget of Ministries, Department and Agencies in order to finance the elections.
The lawmakers in the new budget for 2018 only removed N121 billion from N500 billion meant for service Wide Votes.
