Yewa elders have disagreed sharply over movement from the All Progressive Congress APC to a new party.
While some at a meeting in Ilaro argued for movement into another party after failing to secure the governorship ticket for one of their own, others insist on staying put in the party.
Arguing for continued stay in the party, a group said to have been led by Chief Mrs. Iyabo Anisulowo said the elders, including Obas, were the ones who gave Governor Amosun a blank cheque to choose any Yewa person and such should be ready to swim or sink with the party.
Another group led by Prof. Anthony Asiwaju insisted that they have right to abandon a sinking ship adding that the APC was a sinking ship having not chosen a Yewa candidate.
A third group, Chief among who are the Chief Staff to Governor Amosun’s, Tolu Odebiyi and Barr. Biyi Otegbeye who both have tickets of the party are insisting on not leaving for a new party.
