Wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari has presented an award recognising the gallantry of a Police officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari in Abuja.
Kyari was honoured with the award in recognition of his gallantry and diligence in the discharge of his duties in curbing crimes in Nigeria.
The award titled: The Future is Assured Merit Award was presented to Kyari at the presidential villa in Abuja by Mrs. Aisha Buhari as a special appreciation for the arrest of Nigeria’s most notorious kidnap kingpin alias Evans, arrest of the most deadly kidnapper in the nation’s history. Arrest of another deadly killer alias Vampire and arrest of hundreds of other kidnappers terrorising Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway.
The arrest of the Boko Haram terrorists who kidnapped the Chibok school girls and coordinators of kingpins of the terrorist group responsible for multiple suicide bombings in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States among many other achievements were instrumental to his being awarded.
Kyari responded that the award is a thing of joy that the Presidency is feeling the impact of his team at cubing crime in Nigeria.
“I am happy to be honored by the wife of our President. This award will make my team work harder because reward for hard work is to work harder,” he remarked.
