Abuja protest: Saraki calls for restraint from Dubai

Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has called on all the combatants in the ongoing protest by followers of El-Zakzakky Islamic Movement Of Nigeria, to exercise restraint.

 

Saraki, who is in faraway Dubai, attending a meeting with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said that the report he got of the protest is that it is escalating and called on all those involved including security agents to give peace a chance.

 

According to him, “From the reports I have received, the ongoing protest in Abuja is escalating – with significant loss of lives and damage to property. Right now, I call on the protesters and our security agents to exercise extreme restraint and tow the path of peace.”
