Senate on Tuesday gave approval of N53 billion to Security agencies to carry out their operation in the 2019 general elections.
Senate decision was sequel to the report submitted by Senator Danjuma Goje who informed the lawmakers that the approval was given in conjunction with their counterparts in the House of Representatives.
The total amount requested for the conduct of 2019 election is N242 billion, and the lawmakers had approved N189 billion for INEC.

According to the report approved by Senate, the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) will get N4.2 billion, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS)- N2.6 billion, Department of State Services (DSS), N12.2 billion and N3.5 billion is approved for Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) while the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) took the largest share of N30.5 billion from the budget .
