Update: Atiku wins PDP presidential primary

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has  emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the 2019 presidential election with 1532 votes.

The former Vice President came ahead of other aspirants in the race.

He was followed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal who polled 693 votes and Senate President Bukola Saraki who polled 317 votes.

This is the second time Atiku will represent a political party in Presidential election.

In 2007, he contested on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and came third .

He returned back to PDP fight for the party’s ticket in 211 but lost to former President, Goodluck Jonathan and later defected to All Progressive Congress (APC) to contest for the party’s ticket but came third.

He finally returned to PDP in 2017 to fight again for party’s presidential ticket.
