Fact emerged that all three senators from Niger State lost their Senatorial Tickets due to their loyalty to Senate President, Bukola Saraki instead of the state, Niger government official disclosed .
As at the time of filing this report the result of two out of three of the senators have been declared .
Two out of three serving senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Niger State, on Tuesday, lost their bid to return to the National Assembly.
The two were defeated in the party’s primary election conducted across the three senatorial districts in the state.
In Niger East Senatorial, Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary and Human Right, David Umoru, lost to a new entrant, Sani Musa.
Also in the Niger North Senatorial District, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, lost to the Niger State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affair, Zakari Jikantoro.
In Niger South, voting was still ongoing as of the time of filing this report as voting was delayed due to the late arrival of voting materials.
Although, the result of the third senator is being collated, but the official of the state government on his twitter handle is confident that the Senator will lose.
The official said on his handle @MP_Muye said, “I am just waiting for the official results to come inn. But we are replacing all our three senators who went to the senate to help Bukola Saraki fight our progress. It shouldn’t even be about the people alone but about doing the right thing. Let’s see how Saraki will save you all.
“David Umar from the day he was declared winner started fighting Governor Sani Bello that won’t hurt a fly, you scheme, attack this person, he never answered you once. But you abandon what took you to the senate. Became a Saraki boy boy. Just like Shehu Sani and the rest.”
