The former National interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has expressed optimism that the party will emerge victorious in the Saturday governorship election in Osun state.
He stated this while receiving women led by the wife of the Governor, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola, in his hometown, Ila-Orangun, on Thursday.
The former Governor of the state assured that the differences in the party has been addressed and all aggrieved members have forgotten the past and agreed to work for APC.
With this, coupled with the experience of the candidate of the party, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Akande said the victory of APC is sacrosanct.
Market women in Ila local government had earlier assured the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, of massive votes in the Saturday gubernatorial election.
The resolve of the market women, according to them, is to ensure continuity of the programmes and policies of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the state.
The wife of the Governor, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola, and the wife of the governorship candidate of APC, Kafayat Oyetola, led other women to major markets in the state to seek support of market women for APC in the Saturday governorship election.
Addressing women in Ila-Orangun, Mrs Aregbesola said market women are major electorates in the state, appealing to them to vote for APC in the Saturday governorship election.
She noted that her husband, Governor Aregbesola, for women, is committed to the progress and development of women in the state.
The first lady maintained that the only way to sustain the programmes and success of the present administration, is to vote his candidate to continue the ‘good works.
Recalling that the APC gubernatorial candidate has promised to ensure adequate number of women participation in his government, Mrs Aregbesola urged market women to support him and ensure his victory in the coming election.
