Update: APC National Working Committee rejects Amosun’s consensus list

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has rejected the “concensus” list taken to Abuja by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
In rejecting the list, the NWC said that a minimum of three persons for each elective post had paid and collected forms and this automatically that meant there was no consensus reached.
The NWC referred Gov. Amosun to its statement that where any other aspirant signifies interest through purchase of its Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for any position in question, there shall be primaries
The party had in its statement referred to said
“The attention of the APC has been drawn to announcements of consensus candidates for elective positions in some states, it is therefore, pertinent to make some clarifications to enlighten party faithful on the procedure for nominating candidates.
“While consensus is provided for by the party’s constitution, the option is conditional.
“Consensus does not foreclose Direct or Indirect Primaries for all elective positions as contained in the resolution of the 6th Meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

“Again, consensus will apply when no other aspirant signify interest through purchase of nomination forms for the position in question,”
Impeccable sources said that All the party Chairmen taken to Abuja who were left at the Governor’s Lodge were only a few minutes ago told that they would no longer be meeting the Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.
Already plans are afoot for the Chairmen who were taken to Abuja yesterday to return home.
