After several years of neglect, the Concord newspapers facility at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport has received a facelift.
Though not certain if the renovation was carried out by the family of the late Basorun M.K.O. Abiola, the original owners of the facility, the complex now carries the colour of a courier service occupying the conspicuous edifice.
When NewDawn visited the facility, a courier service was operating and keeping the facility busy as against the abandonment of many years.

A passerby who wished to be anonymous told NewDawnngr.com that the facility was renovated by who he doesn’t know but being occupied by a courier service. “The facility was unveiled not long ago. It is now occupied by the courier service you are seeing. This happened since about four months ago,” he said.
Providing more details, he said, “It was a big event and even the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was at the function when the place was opened to the public. I don’t know who owns the place but we all know it used to be for Concord owned by the late winner of June 12 presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola who was never allowed to rule. The place was abandoned and overgrown but thank God now that it is put to use. At least people are working there and making their living.”
Courier Plus is a courier service that operates in Nigeria and other African countries, according to the outfit’s website, it is a leading logistics and distribution services company established in 2009.
