National Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae has expressed confidence that the party would win the 22nd September governorship election in Osun State.
The elder statesman speaking at the mega rally of the party held at the Nelson Mandela Park on Thursday said the party was positioned to win the election.
According to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the party’s candidate is the best among other candidates contesting the election.
“Our candidate remains the best among all other contestants in the race and with Omisore in government, Osun State will get out of pains occasioned by mis-governance,” Falae said.
Falae however spoke on the much talked about restructuring of the country. “Until something is done in that direction, peace and development cannot be guaranteed in Nigeria,” he said.
SDP’s flag bearer, Senator Iyiola Omisore at the rally however accused the current governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of owing the state workers and pensioners.
According to Omisore, the Aregbesola-led government could fund political campaigns after owing so much.
The SDP candidate alleged the APC-led government of spending over N5b on political bill boards while the state’s civil servants are not paid their salaries.
