Educate a child, invest in a generation

581

Have you seen this? It’s another one, not for the culture but for the great potential in children that needs conscious development.

If we must grow a nation and bless a generation, we should invest invest in one child at a time. Heck, we can group them together and ensure we engage their consciousness in the best ways.

In our last outing to the IDP camp, we noticed that most of the children have mostly been out of school, some couldn’t even speak english well. They acted creatively and intelligently but it was obvious they couldn’t articulate their innate abilities in modern lingua franca.

The occasion of the International Literacy Day presents an opportunity to catalyse something in the their development, even as we think of other sustainable approaches. But we must do this.

At the last outing, the kids I saw looked like they could be potential football stars, world renowned public speakers, diplomats, accomplished career professionals, leaders and what not. I mean the likes of Ahmed Musa and Mikel Obi grew up here in Jos. Musa especially is a Dadinkowa boy who discovered potential and developed his skills on a popular football field here. Now we all know what has become of him.

Our call to action for this project is: Educate A Child, Invest In A Generation.

Join us, let’s light that spark now. “A candle never loses anything by lightening another candle.”
