The intractable crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) in Ogun State has already started taking its toll as members with political aspirations have started leaving the party in droves.

The party, enmeshed in crisis has two different executives, each claiming to be in control of the party with both loyal to different interests in the party.

While the Engr. Bayo Dayo Executive is loyal to Senator Buruji Kashamu, the Alhaji Sikirulai Ogundele led faction is loyal to Chief Ladi Adebutu, a governorship aspirant.

Although the National Executive Committee of the party recently declared the Ogundele faction as authentic and expelled Sen Kashamu from its fold , the Bayo Dayo faction”s resort to the courts has left so many party members in a quandary.

This has led to various individuals to seek for the fulfillment of the aspirations in other political parties especially when its Governorship candidate in the 2015 polls, Chief Gboyega Nasir Isiaka had left the party months back to pitch its tent with the African Democratic Congress [ADC].

The latest defector from the party into ADC, two term speaker in the Otunba Olugbenga Daniel administration, Chief Mrs. Titilayo Oseni Gomez who said she was decamping with over 5000 members said she was quiting the party because of the internal wrangling,

She said “after series of consultation across political circles and associates, discussions with leaders , elders and good people of my senatorial district, critical reflections  within my family and my personal convinction, I have decided to join forces with the reformists by pitching my tent with  the African Democratic Congress, a party committed to unity, good governance and equal opportunity.

“The downward spiral of the PDP compelled some progressively minded members  to take a bold stand and move out of the party in search of new political platforms to realize their political ambitions.

“I  never wavered and never did I for once contemplate decamping from the party despite intimidation, depression, hopelessness, and uncertainty. With the reality on ground as it were, I considered it most expedient and apprioprate to move on in my political career”
