The Renewed Hope Global Advocate, Prince Ade Omole, has described the recent spiritual journey of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the holy city of Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as a deeply significant act of faith and leadership, coming at a time when the campaign for his re-election is already under way across the country.
He said today in a statement on his X handle that Tinubu’s trip shows a President who, even in the thick of a campaign, pauses to place the nation in God’s hands and returns to drive the work forward with renewed vigour.
“President Tinubu performed Umrah (the lesser Hajj) at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, on Friday, 30 October 2026, where he offered prayers of thanksgiving and sought divine guidance for lasting peace, national unity, security and continued prosperity for Nigeria and all Nigerians.
Speaking on the significance of the trip, Omole said: “What Nigerians witnessed in Makkah was not a photo opportunity. It was a father of the nation on his knees for his people. Before the President asks Nigerians for anything, he first went to ask Almighty God for everything Nigeria needs: peace, unity, security and prosperity. That is the measure of the man.”

Prince Omole recalled that this is not the first time the President has turned to prayer at a defining moment. In 2022, as he set out on the journey that would lead to his election as President, then-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu performed Umrah in the holy land and returned to win his party’s ticket and, ultimately, the mandate of the Nigerian people. “History has a way of repeating itself for those who walk with God,” he said. “In 2022, Asiwaju went to Makkah before the journey began, and Nigerians know how that story ended. This time, as President, he has gone again and returned safely to the country, giving thanks for the road travelled and committing the next chapter of our nation into God’s hands. We have seen this trajectory before, and we know the ending.”
The Renewed Hope Global Advocate stressed that in both faith and leadership, prayer comes first, then the work. “Every good thing in life is preceded by prayer. The farmer prays before he plants, the traveller prays before the journey, and the wise leader prays before the battle. But prayer is never a substitute for work; it is the foundation of work. Mr President has prayed. Now the work begins.”
Prince Omole declared that with the President’s return from Makkah, the re-election campaign, already well under way, now moves into top gear. “The prayer has been offered, and the direction is clear. From today, every Renewed Hope advocate, every supporter at home and in the Diaspora, and every Nigerian who believes in the progress we have made is called to duty. We are going from ward to ward, from state to state and from continent to continent to tell the Renewed Hope story. The campaign was already on before the President travelled; now it moves with even greater purpose.”
Addressing concerns that the campaign season could distract the administration, Omole gave Nigerians a firm assurance that the business of governance will continue without interruption. “Let me be very clear: Nigerians will not have to choose between a campaigning President and a working President. Governance will not suffer because of campaigns. The President’s record does not need to be invented; it only needs to be told.
The reforms are visible, the projects are on the ground, and the direction of the economy is clear to all who care to look.”
He pointed to the bold and long-overdue reforms of the Renewed Hope administration, including the removal of the petrol subsidy, the unification of the exchange rate, the overhaul of the nation’s tax system, the student loan scheme that is opening the doors of higher education to young Nigerians, and the major infrastructure projects under way across the country.
“These were hard decisions that previous governments avoided for decades. President Tinubu took them because he chose Nigeria’s future over the comfort of the moment. Nigerians have made sacrifices, and the time is coming for those sacrifices to bear full fruit. That is why continuity matters. You do not change the pilot when the plane is climbing.”
Omole called on Nigerians across the country and in the Diaspora to join the President in prayer for the nation, and to stand with the Renewed Hope agenda in the months ahead. “To every Nigerian, wherever you are in the world: keep praying for our country, keep believing in our country, and keep working for our country.”
“Mr President went to Makkah and prayed for Nigeria. He has returned home ready to continue working for Nigeria. With God on our side and the people by our side, the Renewed Hope mission cannot be stopped. The best of Nigeria is not behind us; it is ahead of us.” Omole concluded.
