…Ghana Put Up Brilliantly Against Brazil in 3-3.
An injury time strike at 90+10 minutes by Andrea Suarez of Venezuela has sent out Zambia from the U17 world women’s football tournament in Morocco even with an outstanding match to play.
Zambia opened scoring in 4th minute while fans were still strolling into the stadium through Precious Mwewa but Ariana Ojeda equalized in the 13th minute before half time came. On resumption Zambia got her 2nd goal on the 54th minute from Grace Phiri who worked out the 1st goal but in the 63rd minute Orliany Duran came up with Venezuela 2nd goal before Suarez swept off Zambia.
Venezuela had lost 1st match to France 0-2 and Zambia lost to Japan 0-5 but today Japan had beaten France 2-0. That makes Japan lead group D with 6 points and 7 goals; France is 2nd with 3 points and zero goals difference; Venezuela is 3rd with 3 points and -1 deficit while Zambia has no point but has -6 goals deficit.
Ghana fought gallantly against Samba girls of Brazil earning 3-3 in group C. Brazil opened scoring in the 7th minute through Nicolly Manuel but Rafia Osman scored the equalizer in the 31st minute after incessant raids hitting the Brazilian post thrice.
Ghana got her 2nd goal in the 35th minute from Gloria Ameaa only for Brazil to equalize in the 44th minute through Kaillany Ranifah. Brazil tried to win the game with the 3rd goal from Indy in the 57th but rampaging Priscilla Mensah dashed the Brazilians hope for match full point with the equalizer in the 85th minute.
Brazil had hit Canada 6-2 and Norway beaten Ghana 3-0 in the first group games but today Canada piped Norway 3-2. Brazil tops group C with 4 points and 4 goals; Norway is 2nd with 3 points and 2 goals; Canada has 3 points but -3 deficit and Ghana has 1 point with -3 deficit.
The last round matches for group C is at 4pm on Saturday when Brazil will play Norway and Ghana take on Canada simultaneously. At 7pm same Saturday we will see Venezuela against Japan and Zambia will play a prestigious game against France.
Tomorrow Thursday, the last group will be decided in group E and F. China will play Samora at 4pm in group E and same time Spain will try to arrest the Kangaroo Babes of Australia in group F. At 7pm USA will face Kenya in group E and Chile will size up Mexico in group F.
