The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has formally dedicated a significant parcel of land in Kampala, Uganda for the construction of a Continental House of Prayer.
The initiative reflects RCCG’s strategic commitment to establishing sanctuaries of intercessory prayer across Africa as a spiritual foundation for national transformation and revival.
The dedication ceremony was conducted by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, and anointed by his wife and Mother in Israel, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye.
It drew hundreds of church leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders from across East Africa.
Speaking at the event, Pastor Adeboye said, “Prayer changes nations. Prayer transforms communities. Prayer liberates families and individuals from spiritual bondage. This House of Prayer represents our corporate commitment to intercession as the spiritual bedrock of African renewal. We are establishing houses of prayer in strategic locations across our continent because we believe that the prayers of righteous men and women release God’s power to alter circumstances, turn back darkness, and establish God’s kingdom on earth.
The facility is planned as a premier center for continental intercessory prayer conferences and prayer summits, leadership development and spiritual formation, pan-African church leadership training and mentorship, strategic prayer initiatives for national and regional transformation, prayer warrior activation and equipping, and community outreach and spiritual empowerment.
It is expected to include a state-of-the-art prayer sanctuary accommodating over 2,000 intercessors, conference facilities for more than 500 participants, residential quarters for extended prayer retreats, and community development initiatives. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2027, with major completion targeted for 2028.
Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye emphasized the role of women in intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare. “Women constitute the spiritual backbone of the church. Their prayers, their faith, their intercession move the hand of God. This House of Prayer will be a center where women prophetesses, prayer warriors, and spiritual mothers rise up in corporate intercession for our nations, our families, and the advancement of God’s kingdom,” she declared. The dedication service also included the solemn anointing of the land and corporate prayer led by leaders of the Feast of Esther, the RCCG annual gathering of female church leaders, pastors’ wives, and women in apostolic ministry. Established in 2002, the Feast of Esther now convenes in multiple African and European nations and is one of the most influential women leadership platforms in the global church.
RCCG noted that prayer transcends denominational boundaries and expressed gratitude for ecumenical support from Anglican, Pentecostal, and other church leaders who affirmed the initiative as strategic for the entire African church. The church believes the Holy Spirit is mobilizing believers across denominational lines for a season of unprecedented intercession and continental revival. RCCG also thanked His Excellency President Museveni and the government of Uganda for their supportive stance toward faith-based initiatives, and reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with government and civil society to advance nation-building through spiritual foundation, moral leadership, and community transformation.
The House of Prayer is a strategic investment in the RCCG 2032 Vision, the church’s expansive continental plan to establish 10,000 prayer centers across Africa, equip 1 million prayer warriors, and mobilize unprecedented intercession for continental transformation, gospel advancement, and God’s glory in this generation.
