Ogunjobi said that flooding of the expressway by heavy rainfall on Wednesday caused some motorists to drive against traffic, resulting in gridlocked.

“The FRSC is appealing to motorists to be patient, reduce speed and avoid driving against the flow of traffic,” he said.

Ogunjobi said that impatience and flouting of traffic rules would compound traffic situations.

He said that FRSC officers and other traffic managers were on ground to control traffic on the expressway and restore normalcy.

NAN reports that heavy rain on Wednesday caused many motorists to spend hours on the expressway.(NAN)
