Wife of Slain Teacher appeals to govt
Wife of slain Oyo schoolteacher, Micheal Oyedokun,Mary Oyedokun, has pleaded with the Federal Government and Oyo State Government to facilitate the recovery of her husband’s body for burial.
The aggrieved widow’s plea is coming days after Oyedokun was beheaded by his abductors.
It will be recalled that the suspected bandits had on Monday released a graphic video of the teacher’s murder.
Oyedokun, a Mathematics teacher, was among the seven teachers abducted alongside their students during last week’s attack on Ahoro-Esinele Community High School, Yaota Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A Primary school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo state.
The Mathematics teacher was gruesomely murdered by his captors in what had largely been considered a warning to security operatives closing in on them.
With the body of Oyedokun still in the kidnappers’ den alongside other abducted victims, Mary pleaded for the recovery of her husband’s body.
Speaking in Yoruba in a video shared on X on Friday, the woman said the late teacher needs to be properly buried.

“Please I’m begging our government. I want my husband to have a proper grave for the sake of the future.” She said in the short video.
The Oyo government earlier in the week maintained that the rescue operation for the abducted teachers and students is still ongoing.
While some reports had earlier claimed the release of the kidnapped victims, the Oyo State Police Command however dismissed the claims, reiterating that the victims are still in captivity.
