…..Egba lokan group may lead protest against APC
The last seems not to have been heard of the contest for Governorship of Ogun State in 2027 as one of the aspirants former Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola has begun consultations on his next move.
In a press statement he issued early today titled- Leadership demands patience and Clarity, the gubernatorial aspirant from the Ogun Central senatorial district appealed to his supporters to remain calm and await his next move.

LEADERSHIP DEMANDS PATIENCE AND CLARITY
Warm greetings to all our esteemed supporters and stakeholders.
I am sure you are aware of the outcome of the APC State Caucus meeting recently held in Abeokuta.
As a democrat deeply committed to the values of inclusiveness, consultation, and responsible leadership, I wish to assure you that I am actively engaging in broad and meaningful consultations with critical stakeholders and respected voices across our political and social landscape.
These consultations are essential to ensuring that every decision taken is not only strategic but also reflective of the collective interest, aspirations, and stability of our people.

However,Newdawn sources revealed that the aspirant who is being supported by a group known as Egbalokan may jump to another party if he gets the nod of his supporters.
The Egba lokan group who are notable sons of Abeokuta it will recalled organised a reception for him in Abeokuta about three years ago upon his recall from the United Kingdom.
It is the contention of the group that the Egbas who make up the Ogun Central should get the slot after incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun who is from Ogun East.
They claim that since 1979,the contest for governorship have always been between the Ijebus and Egbas while others believe,the Yewas who are in Ogun West deserve to take the slot since it has eluded them since the state creation in 1976.
Those in the Egba Lokan group are notable members of the elite from the central which has five local governments namely, Abeokuta North,Abeokyta South,Ifo local government,easily the biggest in Ogun,Obafemi Owode,Odeda Local governments. Former governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun emerged from Ogun Central.
The last definitely is yet to be heard in the race towards Ogun Governorship contest.
