FCT Election: Voting Ends as INEC Commences Ballot Sorting, Counting

INEC officials sorting out the votes

Voting exercise has ended in several polling units across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commencing sorting of ballot papers and counting of the votes cast.

As stipulated in INEC’s timetable, the 2026 FCT Council Election commenced at 8:30am and was slated to end by 2:30pm.

While voting is still ongoing in some polling units which experienced delay in arrival of INEC officials, other polling units in Kuje, AMAC, and Bwari has concluded the election with officials now sorting and counting the votes.
