The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) will on Tuesday 26th August induct 53 successful medical students of the Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jankwano – Jos in Plateau State into the medical profession.

The students had started their medical pursuit in 2017 attending pre-clinical years at the Karu-Abuja Campus of the University established by Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) but had some delay due to the COVID pandemic that swayed Nigeria.

Last 8th June the authorities of the Teaching Hospital and the College of Medical Sciences held a special thanksgiving service ahead of the final examination for 85 students which indicates that 32 of them did not scale the hurdle of qualification for induction.

The MDCN formed 62 years ago presently chaired by seasoned Pediatrician, Prof. Afolabi Lesi that regulates medical education and issuance of practicing license to qualified Doctors and Dentists in Nigeria will be represented by an Ophthalmologist, Dr. Fatima Kyari who took over as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the MDCN from Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi on 27th February 2024.
