Former Nigerian senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, has called on Iran and Israel to fully embrace the recently brokered ceasefire agreement announced by former U.S. President Donald Trump and facilitated by Qatar.
In a statement shared on his social media platform, Sani emphasized that it is in the best interest of both nations to honour the truce to avoid further loss of lives and infrastructure.

He stated, “Violations can only lead to more deaths and destruction. It’s clear from the 12-day war that Iran doesn’t have the air defence to protect its people from Israeli jets, and Israeli interceptors have proven ineffective in protecting their citizens from Iranian missiles.”
Sani urged both sides to “give peace a chance,” stressing that continued hostilities would only worsen the humanitarian and security situation in the region.
