The Federal Government announced on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, that the financial allocation for Rivers State will be released to the state’s Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (retired).

Vice Admiral Ibas, a retired naval officer, was appointed to oversee the state’s affairs following recent political developments. The release of funds is expected to support critical infrastructure projects and public services in Rivers State.
