The Rivers State Police Command has paraded four suspects involved in the assassination of the Community Development Council (CDC) Chairman of Mgbuoshimini, Chief Ndidi Livingstone on 13th January 2024 in front of his church, the Peculiar Faith Ministries, Rumueme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Briefing journalists in Port Harcourt while parading the suspects which includes : John Lucas, Nnamdi Emmanuel, Ogolo Promise and Adebayo Adebayo, the Commissioner of Police CP Olatunji Disu said after the death of Daddy Chukwu, the command had assured that every member of the gang would be apprehended.

He hinted that the unrelenting manhunt for the perpetrators seen shooting and murdering the deceased in the viral video has now led to the arrest of the three other persons directly responsible for the assassination and six more persons belonging to their criminal network.

CP noted that the suspects will be charged to Court as soon as investigations are concluded , adding that efforts are still in top gear to apprehend more suspects connected to Daddy Chukwu’s criminal network.

“Recall the assassination of the then Community Development Council (CDC) Chairman of Mgbuoshimini, Chief Ndidi Livingstone on 13th January 2024 in front of his church, the Peculiar Faith Ministries, Rumueme.
In that operation, four men stormed the church, dragged the victim out and murdered him, shooting him four times with AK-47 rifles, in the presence of his wife, son and congregants of the church.

“The cold-blooded murder which was carried out in broad daylight was captured in a viral video that sparked outrage. I directed a team of Operatives of the FID-Intelligence Response Team and the Rivers State Command on a nationwide manhunt for the killers. The special team identified the four men in the video including the mastermind of the assassination, Peter Daddy Chukwu who was hunted down to a hideout in Ibusa, Delta State on April 5, 2024. His attempt to resist arrest led to his death.

“In the succeeding press briefing after the death of Daddy Chukwu, I gave assurances that every member of the gang would be apprehended. The unrelenting manhunt for the perpetrators seen shooting and murdering the deceased in the viral video has now led to the arrest of the three other persons directly responsible for the assassination and six more persons belonging to their criminal network, he added”

The Commissioner of Police also paraded one Fred Monday a fake police officer with the rank of inspector.

He stated that the fake officer was notice by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command which responded to an intelligence report of a criminal operation in Luegbo Community in Khana Local Government Area involving an ongoing gruesome Cult initiation process of the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic in Bori.

“In a related development, on August 9, 2024, at about 11.45 pm, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command responded to an intelligence report of a criminal operation in Luegbo Community in Khana Local Government Area.

“On arriving at the scene, the Police met with an ongoing gruesome Cult initiation process. Five suspects, later found to be students of the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, were arrested. The students, Mduni Clement, Prosper Wonyingipreye, Kunle Joseph, Eken Evans and Isaiah Elisha confessed to being members of the Vikings confraternity. They have been charged in court and are presently in a correctional centre.

“While carrying out the arrest of the five cultists, the Police encountered a man with them, fully dressed in Police camouflage and donning the rank of an Inspector of Police. He was armed with an AK-47 rifle, ten magazines and twenty-nine rounds of live ammunition. He was taken into custody and after interrogations, his identity was revealed as Fred Monday, a 31-year-old from Wiyakara Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and resident at F-man Close, Eneka Link Road, Port Harcourt.

“He confessed to being an impostor who bought the rifle in 2021 for NGN 850,000 from an accomplice, Goodluck aka Boy-J. He also bought ten magazines, thirty-one rounds of ammunition and two hand grenades from the same accomplice. He disclosed to the Police how he and other gang members would disguise as Policemen to escort criminals to operate in different states, including Akwa-Ibom, Edo, Delta and Rivers State.

“Fred Monday is a confessed member of the Iceland cult group and has been carrying out numerous crimes using the cover of being a Policeman to terrorize his victims. He is also an armed robber who operated as a Keke (tricycle) rider during the day, scanning the area for possible victims to attack under the cover of night.

CP Disu added that investigation is still on as the Police is getting closer to rounding up other members of his gang
