Full statement below:
With the passing of Michael Koleoso – the Babalaje of Ibadan – a great leader from Shaki in Oyo State, I have lost a very dear friend. He was a member of the old Oyo State House of Assembly from where he became a Commissioner in the Uncle Bola Ige’s cabinet where we met and became very good friends since 1979.
He was the Oyo State founding chairman of Afenifere and later became the Deputy National Chairman of the Alliance Democracy (AD). He served as the Secretary to the Oyo State Government during the governorship term of Lam Adesina between 1999 and 2003.
He refused President Obasanjo’s offer to serve as a Minister in 2001. He is a widower like me and a most loyal friend. He is a most respectable statesman. May His Soul Rest In Peace.
