Thursday March 28 was a Special day for many in the Department of History and International Studies ,Lagos state University,Ojo.
For students it was a day to listen to external assessment of the career of two of their celebrated Icons-Professor Dele Adeoti and Prs Mrs Modupe Faseke ,both of the Department of History ,University of Lagos.

For the academic community it was a rare day when the Department decided to Honour the duo who are on their way out if the Ivory Tower having attained the statutory retirement ago of 70.

Thursday event in the departmen was also unique because not even the overall LASU community has ever Honour it’s own.
The Department also remember labour of some former Professors like Professor Danmole, Professor Ogunremi and Dr Alade and Professor Olukunle Lawan,a Fullbright Scholar who died over ten years ago.

All the above received post hummus awards from the department.
It was a day both Professor Adeoti and Faseke recalled with nostalgic feelings their academic career which spanned almost four decades.

The Adekemi Makanjuola Hall was full to the brim as the Academic staff,Invited Guests and students joined together in organising a befitting retirement Colloquium for the two Icons.
