The rusty town of Agosasa in Ipokia local government area of Ogun State have not known peace since March 3rd as two warring groups have visited violence on each other over the Obaship of the ancient town.
Though,Azeez Akindele have been installed by the state government,the other group led by Fadeyi Emmanuel Abogunrin 1,are insisting that it is their turn to fill the vacant Stool after demise of their king.
The Abogunrin group to test their popularity,carried out the Isese procession which led to violent encounter with the opposing group and it erupted into violence.
In the unrest that ensued,many markets have been shot down while hundreds have fled the town as the orgy of violence persists.
As we write the leader of the other ruling house,77 years old Fadeyi Emmanuel Abogunrin, is still custody of security agents.
However, one woman who suffered the worst fate is
Mrs. Orisadare Sururah . Shevhad always believed in the inherent goodness of people, in the promise of justice that was supposed to safeguard every citizen.
But on this fateful evening on the 3rd of March, 2024 in Agosasa, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, her faith was shattered by the brutal reality of unchecked power.
As she was sitting in front of her shop, Mrs. Sururah’s mind was filled with thoughts of her family and the modest dreams she harbored for their future. Little did she know that her path would intersect with that of Isiaka Aderounmu, the present Serving Commissioner II at the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, a man whose authority had become a shield for his cruelty.
Mrs. Orisadare’s mind raced with confusion and terror. What had she done to deserve this? She pleaded with Isiaka and his boys, but her cries fell on deaf ears. Without warning, they descended upon her store like a pack of hungry wolves, grabbing whatever they could lay their hands on and destroying everything in their path.
She watched in horror as her hard-earned goods were trampled and her property vandalized. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she realized the extent of the devastation unfolding before her eyes. With each passing moment, her hope dwindled, replaced by a deep sense of helplessness and despair
Mrs. Sururah’s screams echoed through the night as blows rained upon her body, each one a testament to the unchecked power of her assailants. She fought with every ounce of strength she could muster, but it was futile against the overwhelming force arrayed against her.
When the beating finally ceased, Mrs. Orisadare Sururah lay battered and broken on the cold pavement, her body bruised and bloodied, her spirit crushed beneath the weight of injustice. As darkness enveloped her, she slipped into unconsciousness, her fate hanging in the balance.
Hours passed before Mrs. Sururah’s limp body was discovered by a passerby, who immediately called for help. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors fought desperately to save her life. But the damage had been done, and Mrs. Sururah slipped into a coma, her body a testament to the brutality of those who wielded power without restraint.
Not content with the violent visited on the defenceless woman,the Aderounmu group allegedly led the following thugs to attack and destroyed Mr, Sururah’s shop and House at Enu-odi, Agosasa.
They are Ganiu Lateef, Ilenikuwa Azeez, Amosu Azeez, Adegun Waris, Sekoni Yinusa, Durowoju Musa, Abaru Sheu, Idowu Waliu, Ajao Lekan, Ajibola Fatiu, Ajao Jelili Jasper, Adeola Ibrahim, Mathew Adeogun, Ganiu Kehinde, Ganiu Taiwo, Ogundele Ahmed, Abaru Akeem, Akinsonwon Yusuf, Ishola Rafiu, Ishola Ibrahim, Adegbite Fatiu, Soji Erinola and Adeogun Wasiu the most notorious amongst them.
However,in an interview with Newdawnngr.com,
Honourable Aderounmu denied ever setting her eyes on the woman talk less of inflicting injury on her.
According to him,he only learnt of the attack and couldn’t have done such a thing.
Said he,” I doubt whether I can recognize the woman nor have I met her before. To me it is all tissues of lies to implicate me and damage my name.
Aderounmu challenged all those pointing accusing fingers at him to bring out the, “proof and evidence that I led the assault on the woman.i won’t a proof of that”.
As for him,”the allegation is a pure lie which those making it cannot proof or substantiate”.
Speaking further on the allegation that he is behind reign of terror in the town, he attributed this to what he described as smear campaign by one Barrister Omotoso Modiu, who he promised to take to court at the appropriate time to absolve himself of the accusations.
“He has never been to Agosasa here. He has been writing a lot against me. Try and call that woman they accused me of battering and ask her if she could ever recognise me” he declared.
But in his own reaction,husband to the assaulted woman, Alhaji Afeez Orisadare,said he is not surprised by the denial from Aderounmu saying,”why wouldn’t he deny doing such an evil.

One fact that is clear is that he should tell us why his name is ringing bell for wrong reasons in all parts of Agosasa and everywhere.?
According to him,Aderounmu is acting in an unlawfulness because of the support he is getting from the state government.
“It is left to him and God .The woman in question is not a thief so why should people visit such reign of terror on her.
” Everything is open to God and he will dispense justice the way he could. I am very sure that one day,he will face those people who saw him commiting atrocities face to face”,he declared.
