- As the face-off between Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his benefactor, Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, continues, the number of commissioners who have resigned from the cabinet of the latter has hit 10.
The commissioners who have so far resigned include Chukwuemeka Woke (Special Duties), Alabo George-Kelly (Works), Isaac Kamalu (Finance) Inime Chinwenwo Aguma (Social Welfare and Rehabilitation), Zaccheaus Adangor (Justice) and Chinedu Mmom (Education).
Others are Jacobson Nbina (Transport), Gift Worlu (Housing), Austin Ben-Chioma (Environment), and Commissioner for Bureau of Public Procurement.
The Commissioners are said to have been Wike’s nominees and were cabinet members of his administration whom he had foisted on Fubara.
It is believed that the resignation of the 10 commissioners is at the behest of Wike.
This is even as Fubara is said to have ordered all members of his cabinet nominated by Wike to resign or be booted out.
