Masked militants suspected to be of the Black Marine have reportedly beheaded three members of the Cameroon gendarmes in Isangele subdivision an area in the Bakassi Peninsula.

The Black Marine is the militant arm of the Biafra Nations League (BnL), which is active in the Bakassi area.

“The militants numbering four were sailing on a big canoe boat with fishing net at 5am on Tuesday morning, when they jumped out from the water, shooting one Gendarmerie and beheading two at a spot, taking their guns and their heads,” a source close to the Black Marine said this morning.

Reports say that the militants keep the head of any beheaded soldier in their camp.

Henry Edet, Operational Coordinator of Biafra Nations League (BnL), did not comment on the beheading incident but expressed excitement over earlier reports that seven members of Cameroon’s Rapid d’intervention Battalions (BIR) were recently killed in a suicide attack by the Black Marine. “I am excited to hear that the bomb attack killed Biafra enemies,” he said.
