President Bola Tinubu has appointed a Special Investigator to scrutinize the books of the Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN, over alleged breach of trust and other forms of corrupt practices.
In a letter addressed to the special investigator, Mr. Jim Osanyande Obaze, of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRN, the President said all necessary tools should be used to ensure that all cases of malfeasance are established in the apex bank and other Government Business Entities.
The letter of appointment dated July 28,2023 reads:
CBN intervenes to moderate forex market – CBN gov
You are to investigate the CBN and other related entities using suitably experienced, competent and capable teams and work with relevant security and anti corruption agencies to deliver on this assignment,” the president stated in the letter.
