Nigeria’s High commissioner in the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, has admonished Nigerians in Diaspora to remain circumspect and engage in constructive networking among themselves so that they could be focused and engender commitment to promote good image for Nigeria.
“Empirical evidence has placed Nigeria on the leading rung of the ladder in the circuit of developing countries in the world with quality and comparative professionals, technocrats, academicians and business moguls, all making strides across the globe”,Ambassador Ishola added.
The Diplomat commended Nigerians in Diaspora for their economic contributions to Nigeria through their immesurable fund transfer and advised them to add the value of their physical participation in leadership roles at home which can only happen if they are united and engage in networking to identify their individual qualities and make it happen.
The High Commissioner had engaged a collection of Nigerians from diverse class, who he had invited for dinner at he Abuja House on Sunday June 18, 2023 in an interactive discussions which ranged from national politics, economy, social developments, youth development as well as poverty in our midst.
The discussions provoked series of opinions at the end of which participants aligned with the host for a change of orientation among the Nigerian polity at home and in Diaspora.
Among the guests were senior citizens led by Oba Dr. Olufemi Ogunleye, Towulade Akinale, Owu, Abeokuta, his olori, Olanike Ogunleye, Chief Mrs. Bola Obasanjo among others.
Highlight of the event was the official presentation of the book “Owu Akinale in Contemporary Abeokuta, reflections of a Journalist, PR Icon, Law Scholar and Traditional Ruler” by the author, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, to the High Commissioner Sarafa Tunji Ishola.
