Speaker of the nineth Lagos house of Assembly,Honourable Mudasiru Obasa has been returned as Speaker for the tenth assembly.

The nomination was seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu, a lawmaker representing Epe 2.
Recall that Obasa is the long-serving speaker in the Assembly. He initiated an Assembly Town hall meeting that brought both lawmakers and their constituents together to dialogue on their needs.
Obasa, under his leadership proposed laws that have contributed to the development of the State.
The speaker, Obasa rose from his seat to accept the nomination and was declared by the clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko.
Mojisola Meranda representing Apapa constituency 1 emerged as the deputy speaker.
She was nominated by Desmond Elliot, a lawmaker-elect representing Surulere 1.
The Assembly inauguration was witnessed by the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Mr. Babafemi Hamzat, former minister of Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, ex-speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, traditional rulers, party chieftains amongst others. Source: Upshort
