Strike: Don’t truncate democracy Kokori warns NLC. Former labour leader,Frank Kojori has warned the Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC not to truncate the nations democracy by embarking on a national strike. Speaking in an interview with Television Continental,the former NUPENG leader cautioned the labour movement not to turn it to a political outfit by embarking on a strike again a one week old government. Said he,”One would have expected the NLC to give at least two weeks before embarking on such a step moreso when the government is young. Speaking further,he said that the issues in question are not as simple as the NLC leadership is making it to appear. Kokori explained further that the labour union should embrace dialogue and not rush to taking such decisions with it’s implication for the stability of the country.
