The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has thanked Nigerians for tolerating him in the last eight years.

 

The number one citizen of the country stated this on Friday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during his final Sallah homage by residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 

 

The delegation to the home was led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello.

 

Reacting during the visit, President Muhammadu Buhari said; “I am counting the days. Democracy is a good thing otherwise how can somebody from the other side be a president for two terms? My hometown to Niger Republic is eight kilometres.”

 

 

President Buhari, who will end his two term tenure next month will hand over to the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

 

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress,APC, won the recently-conducted presidential election by defeating other strong contenders in the race.
