In a letter addressed to CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh dated April 10, 2023, and entitled “Apology for the Good Friday social media post by the Peak Brand,” Ore Famurewa, Executive Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc (Corporate Affairs), expressed regret.

“We hereby reaffirm our unwavering commitment to nurturing Nigeria while upholding all religious laws, tenets, and guidelines.

Once again, please accept our heartfelt apologies and pledge to avoid a recurrence in the future. Please accept my sincere greetings,” Famurewa said.

In a statement, CAN’s General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, called the Peak Milk advertisement “insensitive, offensive, and totally unacceptable”

CAN had previously stated that it was considering harsh sanctions against the company, including a Christian boycott of their products while cautioning all businesses and organizations to be careful of their customers’ religious and cultural sensitivity when promoting their products.

The Christian organization had warned that it would strongly condemn any attempt to denigrate or insult the Gospel faith.

After the advertising, Christendom expressed public outrage, labelling it “blasphemous.”

Daramola claimed that the advertisement was an insult to the millions of Christians in Nigeria and throughout the world in addition to being insulting to the Christian faith.
