Ogun poised to complete infrastructural development to enhance revenue generation – Commissioner

Ogun state government has said that it is committed to proving infrastructural development all over the state to enhance it’s development strides which is hinged on revenue generation.

Chief Economic adviser to state Governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun, Dapo Okubadejo made the declaration in Abeokuta Wednesday while giving a breakdown and analysis of the state N472billion budget.

He said that sum of Two hundred and seventy billion(N270bn) which represents 53% of the budget is meant to drive the states economy and embark on infrastructural development in all sector to put the state in better economic footing.

He explained that the development of infrastructure in all facets of the states economy is in line with it’s ISEYA development mantra on which the government was elected into office.

Okubadejo spoke of the adoption of medium term expenditure as the pillar of the resolve to implement the transitional aspect of the 2023 budget.

Among the infrastructural projects he mentioned is the Atan -Agbara road which he said will be completed before middle of the year in order to develop the area which remains the industrial basket of the state.

Speaking further,he revealed that the development of the Cargo airport at Ilisan is part of the move to attract relative investment to the state to boost it’s revenue generation adding,”the place will be turned into an aerotropolis as other complimentary projects like agro park to provide export logistics and creation of a distributing zone the unlock the states economy.

Besides,this is ongoing discussion with private investors for the realisation of the much- talked Olokola Deep Sea port which he said is the deepest of such ports in the West African sub region to fully tap the states potential and drive investment..

He also spoke of the Light up Ogun state project.

He said the projects are meant to realise the objective to turn the state into the fastest growing economy in the country.
