Uzodimma: Easter offers us opportunity to rethink essence of our humanity

Why we celebrate fathers, Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has said that fathers are celebrated for several reasons but principally for their sacrifices, dedication, love and affection, all of which help to build our families and society.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Sunday to serenade the fathers for being the pillars of the family and society, the Governor said the honour done our fathers every June 19, among other things, is to constantly remind us about the vital roles they play in the formation of our families and society.
Governor Uzodimma therefore prayed God to keep, strengthen and prosper our fathers so that they are able to play the leadership role naturally assigned to them by God in our families in particular and society at large.
Governor Uzodimma’s twitter message reads: “In appreciation of their sacrifices and dedication, love and affection in building the family, we celebrate our fathers today.
“Recognised as pillars of the family, we cannot chide away the roles of our fathers in the formation of our society hence the honour.
“As we celebrate our fathers today, my prayers are that God would keep them strengthened and prosperous in all their endeavours.
“Happy Father’s Day to our fathers.”
