This are interesting times for the ruling All Progressive Congress as the acting Chairman of the party, Governor Mai Mala Buni was late Sunday surreptitiously removed in what is seen by observers as President Buharis game plan to take firm control of the party.
Governor Mohammed Bello of Niger was asked to take over the running of the party also in acting capacity.

The decision was said to have been taken before the President Muhammadu Buhari left the country on Sunday.
At the same time, Governor Buni reportedly left the country to seek Medical attention.
The President was said to have been moved to action after some governors elected on the platform of the party complained that Buni did not appear to be serious about keeping the March 26 convention.
It will be recalled that the party has faced internal schisms following inability to hold it’s national convention postponed thrice.
Sources revealed that President Buharis move may be to reduce the influence of the state governors who have taken control of the party since Buni took over.
