Nigerian private doctors honour Rano

The Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners (ANPMP) formerly known as the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), on Monday 29th November 2021, honoured popular oil and gas bigwig, Alhaji Auwalu Abdulahi Rano.

The award presentation was done at a private ceremony in his Kano office.

The Oil and Gas mogul who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of A.A Rano Nigeria Limited, was picked out for the honour by the body, for providing direct and indirect employment to thousands of Nigerians in different parts of the country thus, hugely contributing to the efforts to reduce unemployment and enhance the standard of living of Nigerian masses. Specifically in the health sector which is the major consideration for the honour, A.A Rano, has over time, made positive interventions particularly in Kano state through the building and donation of health facilities, donation of hospital equipments to primed health institutions and generally assisting the indigents to write off their medical bills for sundry treatments.
Presenting the Award plaque to the notable businessman and outstanding philanthropist, Ambassador Dr. Iyke Odo; President of the association informed the recipient that his choice for the honour came through a very meticulous selection process undertaken by the association’s committee charged with the onerous responsibility of identifying Nigerians deserving of such honour from across the country.
Dr. Odo congratulated the Awardee, noting also that the honour is part of the activities to mark the association’s centenary celebration as the ANPMP was founded in 1921. He then shared with the Awardee, the vision of the association and the two major centenary projects they are embarking upon; The Save One Million Nigerian Mothers Initiative and Awake Nigeria Project (Project 2030). He concluded by noting that given all that he has done and is still doing in the very key area of philanthropy, Alhaji Rano deserves the honour done him by the association.
A very appreciative Alhaji Rano thanked the Private Doctors of Nigeria for finding him out and honouring him. He assured the President of the Association and his 1st Vice President Dr. Kay Adesola who accompanied the former to the presentation, that he will support the association to realise the laudable projects they had listed and mostly, that his life of philanthropy is his way of thanking God for the blessings bestowed on him and giving back to society.
