…Says I’m passionate about giving back and helping people
Singer David Adeleke aka Davido has donated a total sum of Two hundred and fifty million naira (250,000,000) to orphanages all over the country as part of his resolve to give back to the society.
The donation he says was in response to his friends and fans who responded to his request on his birthday adding”the total sum of Two hundred million out of the lot was raised in less than two days after his public appeal.
The remaining fifty million he was his his contribution the total if which should be disbursed to all the orphanages across Nigeria.
To ensure the realization of this gesture,he has set up a five man committee led by Mrs Titi Adebayo who will serve as chairman and four others to ensure that the money get to all beneficiaries across the country.
Others in the body are Professor Jonathan Nwosu who will serve as Secretary to the committee and Professor Yahaya Joel Asabe,Pastor Dr Oyelabu and Professor Uthman Onuoha.
According to him,the committee will compile a list of orphanages all over Nigeria,determine the number of children and their needs”and then divide the funds accordingly.
He said his goal is to do the fund-raising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back to people in need.
