PDP Convention: Secondus fights on, heads for Supreme Court
The battle for control of the People’s Democratic Party ,PDP,has continued as embattled National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, has disagreed with the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt. which on Friday dismissed his case.
Secondus had filed a motion at the Rivers State court to halt the National Convention of the party.
He said that though he respect the position of the court, that the substantive case is still pending at the Court of Appeal.
The suspended PDP National Chairman, who bared his mind in a statement signed by the Senior Adviser to media, Ike Abonyi, said: “I have instructed my lawyers to study the ruling with a view to appealing it immediately.
“The issue is not about Prince Uche Secondus but about the sanctity of our party constitution and core democratic principles of justice and rule of law not only in PDP but in our democracy. No impunity must be condoned.
“If those who orchestrated and fostered this avoidable crisis had listened to wise counsel of party leaders and elders who advised the withdrawal of cases, this situation would have been avoidable.
“While saying that no abuse of the constitution of the party should be allowed to stand, he emphasised the fact that he did not take the party to court and would not have done that.”
