The immediate past Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, CON, FCA, has commiserated with Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, over the death of his wife, Alhaja Alimot Olufunke Akinola, on Tuesday, 26 October, 2021.

This was contained in a statement by his media aide, Bola Adeyemi, released Friday.
According to him, Senator Amosun in the condolence letter to the Aare, “received with shock and grief,” the news of the death of your dear wife, Alhaja Funke Akinola, on Tuesday, 26 October, 2021. On behalf of myself and my entire family, I commiserate with you over this sad occurrence.
Said he,“As painful as her death might be, I enjoin you not to be devastated but to take solace in words of the Holy Qu’ran – “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un” (We surely belong to Allah and to him we shall return). Senator Amosun staid that the late wife of the Aware,Alhaja Funke Akinola “would be greatly missed, particularly for her impact as a dutiful wife and doting mother”.
The senator prayed to the Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant Alhaja Alimot Olufunke Akinola Aljannah Firdaus, and give Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Dawud Akinola, the children and indeed the entire Akinola family, the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
