In a swift reaction to the rejection of call for Southern Presidency in 2023,the Southern Governors’ Forum on Monday said that the position of their colleagues from the Northern part of Nigeria over the presidency in 2023 amounted to an exercise of their freedom of expression.
Chairman of the Southern Governor’s Forum , Governor Rotimi Akeredolu said the governors from the North have exercised their right to freedom of expressions.
In a terse response made available to the NPO Reports, Akeredolu said “They have expressed and indeed exercised their rights to Freedom of Expression. No one can stop them from expressing themselves.”
The Governors from the North rose after a meeting in Kaduna on Monday condemning the demand for the return of presidency to the South after the completion of the current term of President Muhammadu Buhari.
It will be recalled that the Southern governors had earlier met in Enugu and demanded that the presidency returns to the South in 2023.
