Buhari in UN, calls for review of debt servicing for struggling nations

President Muhammadu Buhari has called for a review of the debt servicing formula currently in place as a way of lessening the burdens on developing countries.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday,he said the Coronavirus pandemic has foisted on the nations, new economic hardship that are creating needs for lending nations and institutions to reconsider the repayment options.

General Buhari also told the global audience that Boko Haram has been sufficiently weakened in Nigeria but called for more cooperation globally to tackle the scourge of terrorism.

President Buhari also admitted that Nigeria is also witnessing massive impact of climate change adding that his country is ready to be part of all efforts towards reducing the impact of global warming.

He spoke at the United Nation’s General Assembly in its ongoing 76th session holding in New York.
