…Says youths should be encouraged to achieve their dreams

Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja11, has said that agitations from all over the country for secession arose out of the frustration with the system been in operation.
Speaking in an interview on Channels Television titled NewsNight, he told his interviewer Akeredolu Ale, that if things are done properly in the country and are in their right place with functioning institutions, agitations for breakaway will come to an end.
He said that an economy that is growing by one percent cannot give any hope to the youths who are eager to unbundle their energies and catch up with the rest of the world.
“Let the leaders talk to the youths and cultivate a listening ear.”he declared
Oba Ogunwusi called on the federal government to talk to seccenionist agitators and restful youths rather than driving them underground.
The Ooni said that the youths as demonstrated during the Endsars protest last year, “are afraid of what the future holds for them and discover the are in very tight position.”
Said he,”Let the leaders talk to them ,hear their grievances, cultivate them and show them that they have listening ear.”
He said that the country has the potentials to be great as out of every black man in the world one is a Nigerian adding that the country should be returned to bequeath a new system where equity, justice and fair play will reign.
He also spoke on the need to return the country to a workable constitution as obtained when the nation attained independence as the present constitution does not give room for roles for traditional institutions as obtained during the first republic to ensure stability in the system.
“We should return to that era where there are specific roles for traditional rulers who are always there and closer to the people
On political leaders seeking elective office,Ooni said politicians should stop visiting palaces during election but should turn to the people.
“Palaces always remain open for the people everyday,it is the politicians who come once in an election cycle to canvass for votes and after elections they don’t show up. It is traditional rulers that are close to the people and bore their pains”he declared.
“Let politicians stop going to palaces to campaign for votes. They should go to the people to tell them what they have done for them to deserve their votes.they should stop going to palaces that are always there for the people but should go to the electorate to sell themselves and their parties.
On the security challenges facing the country, the Ooni asked the government to stop doing things on emotions but to take steps to build the economy and use all what is at its disposal to solve the economic challenges facing the nation.
“Let’s use what we have to solve the economic and political challenges which in turn will solve the problems of insecurity all over the place”.
