For the second time in one month, the National Assembly complex was on Monday flooded after heavy rainfall.

Nigerians had been alarmed at the leak of the roofs of the complex three weeks ago when the lobbies were flooded after a heavy rainfall.

Workers of the complex were seen on Monday de-flooding the floor which had been taken over by streams of water.

The leadership of the National Assembly had said the leak was a result of the lack of funds which made it impossible for maintenance works to be carried out.

A budget of N37bn which was allegedly earmarked for the repairs of the complex in 2019 had caused controversies.

It was said to be too humongous for the scope of work to be done.

However, the National Assembly had said three weeks ago that the sum of N9bn to which the funds were reduced to was not even released till the last leak happened.

No official statement was issued on Monday after the leak.
