Some members of the Yoruba nation agitators have stormed the Ibadan residence of Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho to demand the release of the 13 aides who were arrested by the Department of State Service DSS last week.

The DSS had claimed the responsibility to have invaded the residence of Sunday Igboho, accusing him and his associates of planning a violent insurrection against the state.

The secret police had also disclosed that two aides to Igboho were gunned down during the raid.

“In the course of the exchange, two of the armed men were gunned down, while the rest were subdued and arrested. Only one operative, who was shot by the assailants in his right hand, sustained injury. He has, however, received medical attention and is very stable.

“The gun duel, which lasted an hour, offered Igboho the chance to escape. Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, is now on the run,” the DSS had said in a statement.
