The wife of the President and First Lady, Aisha Buhari has joined her husband by deactivating her personal Twitter handle.
The first lady announced the deactivation of her Twitter account around 23:59 on Friday.
Recall that the federal government on Friday announced the suspension of the social media giant, Twitter, in the country.
It had accused the Microblogging platform of double standards for deleting the ‘civil war’ tweet made by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.
Information Minister, Lai Mohammed had also in a statement obtained by, cited the reason for the suspension, saying “the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.
Aisha who deactivated her Twitter account, wrote “I will be deactivating my Twitter account for now. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
However, checks on her handle by NPOreports indicated that she has actually off her Twitter account which only shows blank.
