The General Overseer, Redeem Christian Church of God, (RCCG) has been described as an icon that continues to uplift the glory of God in Yorubaland and across the world.

In a statement Saturday, Apapo Oodua Koya, AOKOYA, a pan Yoruba coalition said the RCCG leader remains an inspiration whose glowing reputation across the world has done Yoruba Nation proud.

“We send our condolences to Baba Adeboye, his wife and entire family. Losing a child is painful to us. Children are the pearls of life; they are the roses around the table. We should take solace in the fact that Pastor Dare lived a short but glorious life. AOKOYA stands shoulder to shoulder with Baba Adeboye, the RCCG family and all righteous people who share the agony of the painful loss” AOKOYA said

The statement was signed by the group’s three officials and members of the group’s Spiritual Committee each representing the faith diversity of Yoruba people: Alhaji Kadiri Alowonle; Evangelist Makinde Okunola and Oluwo Ibukun Ademilua.

“In our opinion, nothing can diminish the soaring work of God in Pastor Adeboye glorious life. He has lifted up the glory of Yoruba Nation. He is an asset that we treasure. He is a hero whose status cannot be diminished”

AOKOYA said it is regrettable that some people tend to mock the loss of his precious son saying such people are ignorant, anti-civilisation and lack the fear of God urging Baba Adeboye to pray for the forgiveness of their grievous sins.

The group said Baba Adeboye had spoken up where necessary adding that it is common sense to recognise his limitations given the plural nature of the group he leads in some 180 countries

‘AOKOYA feels the pain of the loss of any child belonging to any Yoruba person. The same way we are grieved by the loss of Baba Adeboye’s son. It is more important to note that the late Dare inspired millions of Yoruba youths and had brought hope and triumph over adversary for millions of younger people the RCCG had empowered through him. He was a humble, honest, decent and Godly idol of millions of Yoruba youths. We pray his soul rests in peace.”

AOKOYA said his death should remind Yoruba Nation of the urgent need to exit Nigeria.

“We do not believe Dare’s death was natural. God does not do evil. Like millions of Yoruba young people consumed by failure of government to provide adequate health servives, Dare could have survived in a country with better health facilities.”

The group said God is not against science adding that many true men and women of God have died due to inept and corrupt leadership that has destroyed the health foundation of the country and that has pushed the country to a state of war.

“It is not that God cannot stop these deaths just as he can put an end to the life of those who oppress Nigerians, but God has given mankind freewill to fight for change and the right to rise and overthrow a system that is inherently evil.” The group urge all Christians, Muslims and Traditional Worshipers in Yorubaland to unite and work towards Oduduwa Nation where the spring of dignity and truth lay in wait for the children of Oduduwa.
