The federal ministry of health has warned medical tertiary institutions in the country of the importation of fake COVID-19 vaccines in some parts of Africa brought into the continent from China.
The warning was contained in a circular letter dated 26th March signed by Director of Hospital Services ,Dr Adebimpe Adebiyi on behalf of the minister of health.
The circular quoting a letter from the Presidential Task Force(PTF) on Covid-19 reported the arrest of about Africa bound 3000 doses of fake vaccines from China.
The circular directed to chief medical Directors/Medical directors of federal health institutions asked them to note that Nigeria Customs Service has designated Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport as the only point of entry(POE) for imported Covid-19 vaccines.
It also dispel any possibility of Covid-19 vaccines being available for sale or being administered by any unauthorised institution.
